After years of admiration for film, an industry of which I have been very opinionated, I was finally convinced in 2023 to create my own website to write up my reviews of all the latest releases in cinemas and on streaming. Over a year later I have found my traffic has increased significantly, both on my web page danlovesfilm.com and on my Instagram. However, the next logical step that I have addressed is to enter the audio market by expressing my opinions verbally on a podcast, something that would come very natural to me given my often chatty demeanour.
Despite this plan of starting a podcast in which I could have guests to chat about the latest movie news and releases, I have yet made that step up in my dream of becoming a more professional movie critic and blogger. A part of me remains apprehensive as to the challengers I may face, and while my traffic has improved over the past 16 months on my page and other social platforms, I am worried to start again elsewhere with negligible figures.
Having just settled into a new home, perhaps it is time for me to get the equipment I need and finally be brave and start the podcast I have dreamt of doing since I founded my web page in June 2023, and hopefully my profile can build from there.

I’ve dabbled a bit in podcasting myself. It’s fun and a little of people like to listen. I think it would definitely drive traffic to your blog!
Microphones aren’t too expensive and there’s a lot of free hosting platforms to get you started.
