Golden Globe Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards have been announced, with Spanish-language, French musical “Emilia Perez” emerging as the early frontrunner with an astounding 10 nominations. The divisive Netflix title has already scored big wins at Cannes and TIFF this year, and thanks to its eligibility in numerous categories, making it the most nominated Comedy/Musical film in Globes history. Next in line were Brady Corbet‘s “The Brutalist” and Edward Berger‘s “Conclave”, scoring seven and six nominations respectively.

There were solid showings for both “Anora” and “The Substance”, but “Wicked” came away with only four nominations despite being widely tipped for a few more. Surprise nominations include “September 5” in Motion Picture- Drama, knocking out Greg Kwedar‘s “Sing Sing”, as well as Payal Kapadia for director ahead of juggernauts Jon M.
