What to Watch in June

After a very busy month in the cinemas in May, which included several blockbuster releases such as “Thunderbolts*”, “Lilo & Stitch” and “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning”, June is a surprising sparse month in terms of new releases. However, the lack of films coming to the big screen is more than made up by their pedigree, as the month boasts several releases from beloved franchises. These include “Ballerina”, the Ana de Armas vehicle is the delayed spin off to Keanu Reeves’ “John Wick” Quadrilogy, the live action remake of beloved Dreamworks animation “How to Train Your Dragon”, and “M3gan 2.0” sequel to the sleeper-hit horror-comedy “Megan”.

Also in June, we will see the latest motion picture from Pixar, “Elio”, which has seen very little in terms of marketing despite its imminent release. But I think I can safely say that the June release I am most excited for is “28 Years Later”, the long-awaited third instalment in the zombie-horror series that was created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland back in 2002.
