BAFTA Final Predictions

With less than a month left until the 96th Academy Awards on 10th March, award season has really started to take shape, with Christopher Nolan‘s “Oppenheimer” establishing itself as the one to beat. Nolan and Universal will be hoping for repeat success at the upcoming BAFTA awards this Sunday to keep up their season long momentum.

“Oppenheimer” leads the nominations going in with 13, with “Poor Things” posing the only real threat being the only other film to rack up nominations in all the ‘major’ categories.

However, you can never rule out fellow Best Picture nominees “Anatomy of a Fall”, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “The Holdovers”, which themselves racked up impressive nomination hauls. The modern BAFTA jury and voter setup may cause a surprise but I would be stunned if any other film of than “Oppenheimer” comes away from the ceremony with the main prize.

The BAFTA ceremony hosted by David Tennant is taking this Sunday 18th February.
