34th Annual Gotham Award Nominations

With the fall festival circuit well underway, we finally have our first batch of award nominations. The Gotham Awards celebrate independent cinema, with movies only being eligible if they have a production below a certain budget cap. 2024 has proven to be a bumper year for indie cinema as the often inaccurate Oscar precursor may have several potential overlaps this year. Usually the Gothams match 1 or 2 of the eventual Oscar Best Picture nominations, given the eligibility constraints and focus on more independent features, this year it looks likely that at least two of the Best Feature nominees may repeat their success at the upcoming Academy Awards.

The nominations in each category are notably sporadic given the category specific five person committees that determine the nominees. This may see a film land a Best Feature nomination but receive nothing in the below the line categories.

The 2024 Gotham Awards will take place on Monday 2nd December in New York City. Here are the full list of nominations:
