The year continues to slowly gain momentum as we hit another relatively sparse month for major releases. While March has plenty to offer, distributors will for the most part be looking to benefit from re-releasing films that succeed at the upcoming Academy Awards this Sunday. This means that there is plenty of room for one of the films below to dominate the box office this coming month, with the already declining “Captain America: Brave New World” being the only major worldwide blockbuster currently showing on the big screen.
As for premium content this coming month, the standout film is looking to be Bong Joon-ho‘s sci-fi comedy “Mickey 17”, which is released on the 7th. This is the Korean director’s first theatrical release since his multi-Oscar winning hit “Parasite” back in 2019. Other releases that have either already, or expected to receive critical acclaim include tragicomedy “One of Them Days”, starring Keke Palmer alongside singer SZA, and Steven Soderbergh‘s “Black Bag”, the prolific filmmaker’s second film of 2025 already.
The two big blockbusters of the month are “The Electric State”, directed by the Russo Brothers, which is coming to Netflix on the 14th, and the latest live-action Disney remake, “Snow White”, which will be fighting an uphill battle at the box-office following controversies and negative press attention over the past year.
