Supporting Actor may be shaping up to be an exciting race, possibly consisting of actors yet to win an Academy Award. The early frontrunners appear to be veteran actors Samuel L. Jackson and Paul Raci for their supporting roles in “The Piano Lesson” and “Sing Sing” respectively. Jackson was a contender last year before the film was pushed back, whilst Raci’s performance has already recieved acclaim following its special presentation at Toronto in September.
Actors looking to secure their first nominations include: Jeremy Strong, Clarence Maclin, Drew Starkey, Harris Dickinson and Mike Faist. The only possible contender to already have an Oscar in their possession is Denzel Washington, who may or may not be in the awards conversation for his role in Ridley Scott‘s upcoming “Gladiator” sequel.

Great predictions for supporting actor. I suppose at this point in time it’s too early to tell but i have a feeling that Samuel L. Jackson has a fairly good shot of winning this. Jackson is one of those movie-stars been delivering consistently high quality work for decades, but scarcely been recognized for his work. Honestly, he should have an Oscar many years ago for his extraordinary performance in “Pulp Fiction”. Here’s why I love Tarantino’s crime classic:
